Whatever the result of the presidential election, life as we've been knowing and living it, will change. From the way things are going, things will change dramatically.
Even now, before the stuff hits the fan, we can sense a change is coming. We worry what the change or changes might be, and we worry whether we can cope.
Are you expecting things to be better or worse? What things come to mind? Are you apprehensive about what a "new" government might do and how it might impact your life? Or, do you believe you can deal with, and survive, whatever is thrown at you?
What are you thinking? Call 888-874-4888 and share your views on air!

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, just 12 days from today, and the air is thick with anticipation about the outcome, especially concerning the nation's top job.
Will Donald J. Trump get another four-year turn as president, or will voters decide they have had enough of him and his administration and need a fresh start?
How would you be able to tell that the right person is in the job of president of the United States? What would be some of that person's most important qualifications and abilities, based on what you believe are your community's and the nation's needs in a leader at this time?

We talked yesterday about Tweedledum and Tweedledee, a metaphor for our political system, which seems to have near-zero tolerance for embracing the idea that in a highly developed society such as ours the apparatus of government should reflect its complexities.
But that is not so in the United States. When it comes to politics and elections, we are creatures of habit. Our tastes are set; we're not into new-fangled flavors. We're fine with Democrat and Republican. New political flavors are just not for us.
For decades now, voters have been reluctant to look beyond the two-party system for new political choices. Today we discuss how this has retarded, and continues to retard, progress.

Another national election soon will end the way such elections have ended for decades -- as a contest between the Republican and Democratic parties for political control at the federal, state and local levels. Essentially, it's a political shutout, with little or no participation by any other party -- the way it's been for decades, suggesting voters like and want it that way. So, why the fuss when it turns out that at election time it rarely gets more complicated than choosing between Tweedledee and Tweedledum?
Why do voters continue to have such poor and limited choices?

>> While the coronavirus rages on in the United States (and much of the world) our attention is drawn to the statistics, as if that alone tells us all we need to know. As with most pandemics, whatever information the people get is highly managed so as to shape behavior in order to control expansion of disease. All the people need to know is how terrible the pandemic or outbreak is and what is required of them to make it go away.
In this light we take a look at the coronavirus and how it is reshaping how we function within our society, yielding to systems of authority and accepting that they know best. But other than what we're told, is that all we need to know and do?

It's the second (of four) days of what should be an intensive interview and screening session between members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Amy Coney Barrett, who President Donald Trump is pushing to be selected to serve a lifetime appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court, replacing the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
No surprise, there are many problems with Barrett's nomination. But will Trump get the conservative majority he wants with Barrett's appointment?
With polls showing Joe Biden pulling in impressive numbers, Trump and family "advisers" are working at breakneck speed to get at their voters.
Can the Trump campaign get the numbers they need to win in time?
