Why Do So Many African Americans Have Doubts About the Covid-19 Vaccine?
The coronavirus continues its murderous rampage across the nation, even as newly developed vaccines are being rolled out for mass distribution.
A data center at Johns Hopkins University that serves as a national repository for Covid-19 statistics recorded reports of $15.5 million cases (plus 221,000 new cases) of Covid-19 nationwide, and 289,000 (plus 2,630) deaths as of yesterday.
A news conference yesterday, hosted by the National Urban League and featuring Dr. Anthony Fauci, a senior health advisor to President-elect Joe Biden, launched a special outreach effort targeting African Americans. It coincided with the vaccine rollout.
African Americans got "preferential treatment" yesterday. But why?

Donald Trump spent much of his presidency moonlighting as an incubator, building his personal and business "brands" and his family's fortunes.
No doubt, being president was good for business and favored individuals' bank accounts, but it wasn't long before the the veneer of the "stable genius" president began to wear off under blistering criticisms over U.S. domestic and foreign policies and dissatisfaction with his performance as president.
Early in his term, the tide began to change. Trump was turning out to be a letdown and it was no longer a secret.
As he heads out the door, denied a second term by Democrat Joe Biden, Trump has declared war against everyone he thinks has betrayed him. He seeks revenge for losing his prize; so much was riding on it.
Leid Stories listeners put Trump's term in office--and his short-circuited re-election bid--in perspective.

Biden announces the first-ever all-female senior White House communications team. Smart move, or a gimmick that will come back to haunt him?
>> In a sermon he delivered at the solemn ceremony in Rome elevating 13 church leaders to cardinals--second only to the pope in the Catholic Church's leadership hierarchy--Pope Francis warned against abuse of power, corruption and the arrogance of pride. What was the story behind his message?
>> Jill Biden is "the protector" of her husband, Joe. In recent months, she jas become more visible and involved in the president-elect's schedule. What's happening here? Will Jill Biden be co-president of the United States? Is she quietly serving in such a role to keep her husband alert and lucid, giving no hint that he might be mentally slipping? In any event, this new role of hers is disconcerting.
