The status remains decidedly quo on what only two weeks ago was a  rush by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to make fast work of impeaching President Donald J. Trump In the House and then readying him for trial (and conviction) in the Senate.

 

But Pelosi did not refer the matter to the Senate for trial, even though the House had voted against Trump on two articles of impeachment--abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. And she has given only sketchy information on where, exactly, things stand, and where they go from here.
