Leid Stories yesterday shared a riveting keynote speech by civil-rights activist, the Rev. Dr. William Barber II, at what was called an "emergency" convening i. Washington, D.C. of the Congressional Black Caucus and partnering organizations.
For Barber, his speech was "a call to action," especially to black leadership, to realize the full potential of black political power while forging coalitions with other communities to maximize independent power. Current conditions demand these responses, Barber said.
Needless to say, they are tall orders, but does that mean that Barber's "call to action" is implausible?
