It’s not like the idea hasn’t been raised before, but in recent weeks it’s been gaining more and more traction among Republicans and Democrats alike—using President Donald Trump’s erratic behavior and chaotic administration to buttress a claim that he’s mentally unfit, and therefore should be removed from office. It’s a steep, uphill legal climb, but it already has begun, at least in concept.
